The Story

Lives of Alara is a novel about memory, inheritance, and the danger of being seen too clearly by someone who wants to possess what should only be protected.

For five thousand years, the women in Alara’s bloodline have carried dreams that are more than dreams. They remember migrations, betrayals, births, deaths and warnings from lives they never lived. The gift preserves knowledge — but it also marks them.

In the modern story, Alara begins to understand that her visions are not metaphor, illness, coincidence or family legend. They are a map. They point backward through history and forward toward the man who has been searching for her without understanding why.

The pattern has always required three roles: the Dreamer, the Protector and the Destroyer. This time, the Dreamer knows enough to choose.
